1. Applicants should be non-Chinese citizensholding a valid foreign passport.
If both parents or one of the parents of the applicant are Chinese citizens and reside in a foreign country, the applicant should have foreign nationality at birth and hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years. In addition, a record of more than 2 years of actual residence in a foreign country in the last 4 years (by April 30, 2025)is also needed. For people immigrating from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to foreign countries and are applying as international students, please refer to the requirements above.
2. Applicants should bephysically and mentally healthy, and meet the medical examination standards for applying for a study visa or residence permit in China.
3. Applicants should be18-30 years old with a high school diploma or above.
4. Applicants should have excellent grades and good conduct, without any record of violation of school rules and regulations, nor any record of public security punishmentor criminal record.
5. Applicant’s language proficiency must meet the following requirements. Applicants must reach a score above 180 in HSK 4 or provide other comparable certificates proving Chinese proficiency. Applicants receiving the last degree with the instruction in Chinese are exempt from submitting the Chinese proficiency certificates, but the certificate of Chinese medium issued by the school graduated from shall be provided.

For self-supporting applicants under the age of 18 by September 1, 2025) needs to be notarized with signatures. If not notarized in China, the endorsement of local Chinese Embassy is required.
Guardians shall be Chinese or foreign adults who reside in China with stable source of income.

*5. Financial Support Guarantee Statement
Financial Support Guarantee Statement and scanned copies of its supporting documents completed in Chinese or English, certifying that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover his or her tuition, accommodation, living expenses and international travels during his or her study in China. The minimum amount of funding required is RMB 150,000. Only one’s relatives can act as his or her financial sponsor. The Statement should be accompanied by a scanned copy of the financial sponsor’s valid passport or identification certificate (self-supporting applicants should submit this statement).
